Who are HHIC?
The initials HHIC stand for The Heating and Hot Water Industry Council and its an organisation, based in Warwickshire, that consists of members drawn from the industry, including manufacturers, merchants, utility companies, distributors, installers and service providers.
It is committed to the U.K. domestic heating and hot water industry by supporting and sustaining its growth. They do this by providing information and lobbying key audiences including their own members, the government, other companies connected with the industry, related associations and organisations, and consumers.
This creates a general forum of discussion, all directed at the crucial issues and the future development of the industry.
Communications are facilitated via the HHIC consumer website, www.sbgi.org.uk/hhic, a helpline for both consumers and the trade, market statistics, a benchmark scheme and technical expertise.
Governed by a Board of elected members, the specific objectives of the HHIC are to:
- inform members relating to the domestic heating and hot water industry;
- develop and promote the market across a wide range of audiences;
- represent members’ interests in a number of key areas, including legal and technical issues;
- raise standards across the industry;
- provide a networking hub for members and non-members;
- allow exposure of key decision makers;
- encourage new technical and commercial developments;
- generally enhance the reputation and standing of the industry.
It’s also a good place to start if you’re looking for a job in the industry.But wherever your interests lie, this is a good fountain of knowledge when it comes to the heating and hot water industry.
