You might find this hard to believe - but you could find yourself looking for air conditioning this summer
You might have begun to feel it already, but the global weather pattern is changing, and not necessarily for the better. Countries to the south of the UK are suffering terribly from drought and countries in Western Europe are also feeling the effects with erratic weather patterns becoming the norm. Colder winters seem to be here to stay in the UK, but that doesn't mean that the summers are going to remain as they were.
Weather experts are forecasting that over the coming years, summers are going to be longer and hotter and spring and autumn will be much shorter, counted in weeks. So what are the implications of this development, especially for those who live in the south of England that have always enjoyed warmer summers?
It means that learning to live with air conditioning, for so long the domain of the Mediterranean regions or any country close to the equator, will be something that the Brits will need to get used to, and sooner than they would believe.
Anyone who has ever spent any amount of time in a hot climate will not fail to remember the feeling of relief of stepping into an air conditioned area. No amount of fans, floor mounted, and ceiling mounted, free standing or all of them together will replace that sensation of cold air washing over you that air conditioning brings.
Coming to terms that our climate is changing may take a few years, but its inevitability is almost frightening. There is no reason to be afraid of air conditioning, and if installed by experts and operated with responsibility and relative caution will not make it a cripplingly expensive exercise.
If you are interested in investigating the financial and operational implications of installing and operating an air conditioning system in your home, don't go it into it without consulting an expert for some objective and impartial advice. You might be surprised to discover that there are a number around, and that there are a number of homes as well as office blocks, shopping centres, theatres and cinemas that have already taken the step of installing air conditioning.
Before you seek professional advice, you have nothing to lose by doing some online research on what it means to live with air conditioning. You might only switch it on occasionally, but when you do, you will be truly grateful.
