Combination boilers still number one for the UK public
In recent years combi boilers have risen slowly but steadily up the charts to become the most popular boiler used for both heating water and powering a gas central heating system in all of the UK. And it's not by chance that they have become the most common boilers these days, because they have so much going for them. Not only are the compact, but they are also powerful; you can fit a combi boiler into the tightest of nooks and crannies and they will operate without any problem. And compact also means economy when it comes to a combi boiler, with operating costs that are considerably lower than any of their rivals, a fact that means a lot in this energy saving and cost conscious times.
Where combi boilers come into their own is by the fact that unlike conventional electric boilers or traditional gas boilers, they heat the water for you central heating system or for your boilers directly from the mains. This puts an end to that annoying wait for water to heat up before you can take a shower, wash your hair or the dishes. Better still, gone are the days of energy wastage, because combi boilers have no need to be connected to an external hot water tank, you never reheat the same water again if you’ve let it run cold.
Lets' be honest. Not every home application is suitable for combi boilers. For larger families with a constant need for large quantities of boiling water, a combi boiler may strain under the task. However for families of two or three people, living in a small to average sized property, without too many radiators that need to be heated up, and with a maximum of two bathrooms, then the combination boiler will be totally in its element.
Another reason why combi boilers have squeezed out the opposition is their ability to free up space in smaller houses. That handy cupboard under the stairs or in the loft can be vacated of its large and cumbersome boiler and used for storage or even an office of workroom.
So if you haven't switched to combi power, and feel that by doing so you will gain a lot more than you will lose, contact your local energy supplier and find out why combination boilers are number one in the UK charts.
