Nothing to lose by keeping track of energy prices online
Sometimes it's tough to shake off tradition or to get used to new ideas and innovations. That's the reason why too large a proportion of the UK population wait in fear till their energy bill comes in. Yet for a number of years now they have had the chance of keeping track of their energy consumption on line, and even pin pointing if they may have been using too much energy and be able to do something about it before their energy cost go way over budget.
It can be done and it's thanks to these nice people who invented and developed the internet to where it is today. And anyone with access to a computer and even a little knowledge of which buttons to press can receive an up to the minute update of their energy consumption, either gas or electricity, since their last bill.
As much as the internet and the access to instant information has become a focal part of modern society for the good as well as the bad, this opportunity to keep track of outgoings, potential as well as actual should be of tremendous importance to the UK householder, Not only can they instantly access their history of energy use, they can also compare what they spent for the same period a year ago, what they have used to date in the same period this year, and see if they are on the right tracks.
We need to buy gas to heat our homes and to cook our food, and we need to buy electricity to light our homes and operate our many electrical appliances including the computer.
These days the average UK family is laying out around seven percent of their disposable income on energy and it is totally legitimate to want to reduce this figure, and keeping track of consumption and even budgeting daily use can now be done thanks to this wonderful tool that has been made available to the UK consumer.
So even if you don't know what a computer is never mind what it can do for you, don't be shy. You are bound to have a friend, a son a neighbour or even a grandson who knows all there is to know about how to extract information from the internet. Ask them to help you to keep track of your energy usages and keep you up to date. Why be in the dark!
