Gas central heating - the best choice you can make

It has become a part of domestic economic folklore that the most important a family will make in their lifetime is the house that they will live in. Will it be a flat, a semi-detached, a cottage can depend as much on budget as personal preferences.

The same applies to other major choices such as cars, holidays, education – you name it. Somewhere along the line there will be a choice to be made. The same applies to central heating, which is becoming an increasingly important facet in making our lives in the UK more bearable as the winters seem to be getting increasingly tougher. And once again there are a number of choices to be made on which type of central heating best will suit our needs and our budget.

It wasn't that long ago that oil fired central heating was an option, but with fuel prices almost tripling over the last decade, that particular option has now been priced out of the market. Wood burning heaters are still around somewhere, but is only a serious alternative to families who either are totally hooked on tradition or are so far off the beaten track that it is economically unviable to hook up to gas or electricity.

That means that the main contenders to fuel a typical UK family's central heating system are the old favourites of electricity and gas. Electricity has its advantages, with the main one being that an electrically driven boiler is cheaper and easier to install than gas boiler. Electric radiators are both totally portable and cost nothing to install.

Where electricity falls down is in its cost. Estimates have it that a typical UK family of four will have recovered the costs of installing a gas driven central heating system within four years, and after that it's cost saving all the way.

Also with gas central heating, home owners have the choice of controlling the heat levels either from a central point as well as per radiator. That can mean a major saving as well as increased convenience.

So when all the pros and cons are weighed up, then for more and more people the best choice that they can make is a gas boiler driven central heating system. Ask for more details of which of the combinations of gas central heating systems might suit you best.
