As Winter Approaches why not consider a Gas Driven Coal Effect Range
There must still be a few million UK residents that still remember the days of sitting around a coal fire on a cold winter's evening. There was nothing quite like watching these embers glow to the sound of Coronation Street in the background. Whilst coal has gradually disappeared from the domestic heating scene, and winters are getting colder, the only thing that remains from that era is Coronation Street.
However a wave of nostalgia has hit the heating industry and while nobody really wants to bring back coal to the UK fireplace, there certainly is a dramatic upswing in demand for something that offers the best of both worlds- a gas driven coal effect heating range.
These ranges come with highly realistic coal effect ranges with back lights that will create a very warm centerpiece to a room while giving off a constant and controlled heat for as long as you need it. Those people who remember the coal fire days will also recall the downsides. These were that the heat was never constant; it always started off too high and got cooler as the evening progressed. The only way round it was to top off with more coal which could sometimes mean going outside to the coal shed, which detracted a lot from the fun. Also coal fires meant a lot of ash and black dust, never an easy thing to clean up. Sometimes they would even clog up and a chimney sweep would need to be called out.
Coal effect gas fires come with none of these problems, so you get the effects and the atmosphere with none of the pain. That’s why more and more families are looking at them. It is surprising how many of the older UK properties have old fireplaces that have been plastered over and can be readily re-furbished to house a coal effect gas fire. Some properties still even have an original fireplace that can be brought back to life with a coal or even a wooden log effect gas fire.
And it's not only that a simulated coal fire looks great should get you excited. It's also the considerable savings that you can make by heating with gas that should be taken into account. So when you take a look at your heating plan for this winter, take a trip back to the good old days and make a place for your coal effect fire. Ena Sharples would have approved.
