Worrying about insulation will take care of your
heating bills
There are a lot of people, who can't see the wood for the trees, and this can especially apply to when winter comes and the emphasis is on keeping themselves and their families warm when a cold UK winter approaches.
Just because the song states that "Baby, its clod outside" it doesn't mean that they have to warm up the environment, or at least the next door neighbour's garden by letting all the expensively generated heat escape.
In short, before making sure that our boiler is working at its 100% potential, we have to make sure that we have done everything in our power to make sure that all the heat that we need is remaining within our own four walls.
And that means proper insulation, my friend.
The UK winter of 2009/2010 was one of the worst on record, and early indications are that the coming one is to be no laughing matter. So it's important to make sure that all the soldiers are lined up in proper order to make sure that the home and family will be protected.
Energy experts will often argue that the first line of attack is defence, and that means preserving all of the heat by making sure that none of the cold from outside can invade the home, and all of the heat inside the house remains there. The costs involved in making sure that every possible gap has been filled, and that heat generated will be saved might appear to be high on the first impression. However in the long term, the investment will pay for itself many times over as any property that does not have proper insulation will lose so much in heat. This will result in pushing up energy costs and undue stress on the heating system.
Making sure that every effort possible has been made to preserve heat inside the home through proper insulation is too many people no less important than installing and maintaining an up to the minute central heating system.
And that means sealing the house as effectively as possible from the intrusions of cold air, as well as preventing heat escaping through the walls, doors, windows and roof of your property.
You owe it to yourself to insulate!
