Why High Efficiency in Heating Systems should
be a must
It might not seem like it but the threat of global warming hasn't been around for that long. In fact even ten years ago if anyone had mentioned the subject, they would have been not taken all that seriously. Nowadays the scenario is completely different. UK consumers feel the effects of global warming each and every day. And the erratic weather conditions that have become increasingly commonplace are felt more and more where it hurts the most- in our energy bills.
That's why it has become vitally important for UK home-owners to take a much longer and closer look at their central heating systems and make totally sure that that they have been set up to operate at the highest level of efficiency to make sure that any wastage of energy is being kept to a minimum. Nowadays too many people have learned a very expensive lesson. That is that energy wasted means money wasted as well as causing further damage to the environment and increasing the effects of global warming.
These days most new central heating systems come with highly efficient and incredibly compact condensing boilers, which are remarkable for their energy savings. The reason for this is that condensing boilers are set up not to release the steam produced when water is boiled, whereas the traditional boiler would expel steam through the flue. The new generation condensing boilers instead retain the water vapour and allow it to revert into liquid form, saving considerable amounts of energy and reducing costs considerably
Whilst heating the boiler efficiently is an important step in the process, thanks to the tremendous advances in thermostat technology, even more savings can be made. Entire heating systems and even individual radiators can be primed to switch themselves on and off according to highly tuned requirements as well as setting themselves up to pre-determined room temperatures. That means that a family who are out of the home during the day, can set their central heating system to switch itself on half an hour before they are scheduled to arrive so that the house is nice and cosy when they get there. They can even take it a stage further by switching on only the radiators in the rooms they will be using early evening, usually the public areas. They can also program radiators to switch themselves on in the bedrooms when it's time to hit the hay, and the radiators in the public rooms to switch themselves of. Now that's heating efficiency and energy saving at its finest.
