Now is the time - insure your boiler before the cold winter sets in
Those UK citizens that are either unaware of don't want to know, the coming winter looks like being as difficult than the one that preceded it. That means with November already upon us, another month of six weeks will see the average British family being dependant more and more on that slightly small, often cylindrical and sometimes square item of engineering genius- the hot water boiler.
While boilers operate all year round in most UK homes, they really have to justify themselves in the winter when they need to provide heat as well. That why most homeowners should be checking out their state of their boiler's health around about now, to make sure that it is up to the task as possible.
Either before or after they should also be making sure that their boiler insurance is up to date, and will be at least till March or April of 2011.
Too many people have learned the hard way the vagaries of being dependant on their boiler too much or their ability to find a decent heating engineer if and when their boiler breaks down in the height of winter.
The truth is that most of the insurance companies who provide boiler insurance have taken the responsibility of ensuring that one of their clients should need an emergency boiler repair, they have the trained staff on standby around the clock. Some of these engineers are company employed, however the majority are self- employed and are grateful to be hooked up to a regular source of work instead of having to deal with individual householders who only call on them in an emergency situation. These boiler maintenance and repair companies have all the work that they can handle and are rarely available to take on rush repairs. This means that in most cases the uninsured family have left themselves in the hands of the vultures and the inexperienced.

Realise that taking out central heating insurance, especially one that includes your central heating system, is a very smart move.
So don't let yourself or your family down. Now is the time to make contact with your local British Gas office to arrange gas boiler insurance before the winter sets in. It's coming, and sooner and stronger than you think.
