Hail The Forgotten Hero - Insure Your Boiler Before Winter Sets In
While the water boiler stem is one of the most important fixtures that you will find in a typical home, needing to provide hot water to keep the family and what they wear and eat off surgically clean it is often taken for granted. In the winter central heating systems need to be operated, and with winters seemingly getting colder and tougher every year, we need to know that our central heating system will be able of working to its maximum capacity. The last thing that we need during the coldest winter days is for a water boiler to suddenly break down with all of its implications.
You don't have to be a genius to figure out that water boilers will break down more often in the winter than in the summer, when they will be under so much more pressure to produce double the amount of hot water than normal. It is always a good idea to get the boiler checked out before winter sets in just in case. Any certified service engineer will be happy to look over your boiler, and point out any repairs that will be required before winter sets in. They are also liable to appreciate the fact that you are providing them, with some work during what is usually a very flat period for them, and should remember the gesture if you should need to call them out some freezing cold winter night.
It's only when your boiler, and with it your central heating system goes down
That you realise that taking out central heating insurance was a very smart move.
Taking out boiler insurance and especially one that includes your central heating system, generally means that you are entitled to an annual service call, which is free of charge.
