Take the Long Term View and Switch to
Gas Central Heating
If you are heating your home by any other method than by good old British Gas, then more than likely you will have discovered by now that all the alternatives are no longer feasible. The price of heating oil has more or less quadrupled over the last few years, and electricity is not that far behind, largely because most power stations are operated by oil.
The situation with rising oil prices, which has only arisen relatively recently, has placed home owners in a very difficult situation financially, whether their existing property has another form of central heating than gas or if they have just bought a new house, either without central heating or with oil or electrical heating.
In either situation, home owners will know that they are caught between a rock and a hard place, although there are still quite a large number who are blissfully unaware that they are paying out thousands of pounds every year on heating costs that can be avoided. Heating a home using British Gas central heating is by far and away the least expensive method available, as anyone who has gas central heating installed will confirm.
The decision to install gas central heating should be an easy one to make, if you are building a new house or moving into a house without central heating. When it comes to a situation where someone has another form of central heating other than gas, and even more so when they have bought a second-hand property with either oil-fired or electric heating, the obvious temptation is to try to make do with the existing system. However there are endless records that show that this is the worst form of false economy, and investing in the switch to a gas-driven central heating system will recover the investment within a very short space of time. All you have to do is compare gas and electricity prices to understand the significance. British Gas provides loads of information on the subject. It you are considering buying a new gas-driven central heating system, or converting an existing one to gas, you should look to their excellent web site for advice and guidance.
