Tankless water heaters now the most popular
in the UK
You would need to be living in an igloo these days no to be keeping track of events in the World that are happening so fast and that are liable to affect us all. Energy costs are rising at a frightening pace, and every effort has to be made to keep them under control. Thankfully many UK householders have taken the steps to reduce their water heating costs, which make up thirty percent of a family's total home energy budget. While it seems that little or nothing can be done to control raw energy costs, at least boiler manufacturers thorough the World have taken a step into the future, by developing the combination boiler, are the combi boiler as it is generally known.
Combi water boilers have taken a major share of the market within a very short time, partly due to Government intervention in the early part of last year to subsidise the cost of replacing boilers, in the knowledge that by doing so they would be helping the environment by reducing global warming and reduce energy costs over the traditional style of storage boilers.
Combi boilers have a number of ancillary advantages, with the most outstanding being that it takes up so little space, as it has no need for a tank to store the water that it heats. On the minor downside, combi boilers do not store water and heats on request, meaning that not everyone can shower during peak shower times and fifteen minute showers are a thing off the past. Not a bad thing in these energy and cost conscious times.
With the short term future of energy costs and availability looking uncertain at the moment, it seems illogical to consider making changes to a heating system. However combi boilers have proved themselves to be such a sensible investment with energy savings and convenience looking increasingly more the order of the day, and the luxury of having a boiler full of boiling water on standby just in case we need it being very much a thing of the past.
With the worst part of this winter no hopefully behind us and the larger than average bill on its way to most people, now may be the time to check out the cost effectiveness of switching to a combi boiler. Save money, save the environment!
