What is the labour policy for maintenance and breakdown services?
With over 8000 engineers, the majority of labour and service is provided by British Gas' own engineers. In rare instances where a British Gas engineer is unable to attend a customer's home, British Gas will send a duly qualified contractor to ensure that your needs are met immediately.
Can I apply for HomeCareŽ coverage if my supplier for gas or electricity is not British Gas?
Yes, you can apply for HomeCareŽ coverage whether you are a British Gas customer or not. More information about HomeCareŽ.
How do I know what type of boiler I have?
Here is an easy way to tell. Ask yourself, do you have a hot water tank in your home?
If you are still unsure, contact your manufacturer. Their name should either be on the front of your boiler, or underneath the main cover, near the controls.
Can I only apply for Central Heating if British Gas supply my energy or installed my boiler?
No, anyone with a gas boiler can apply. The only requirement is that all essential working parts are available and that your system is approved by British gas during the initial Safety Inspection.
